The Meaning of Tawakkul

Reliance on Allah combines trust in His decree with taking proper means.
Tawakkul (reliance on Allah) is often misunderstood as passive resignation. In reality, it is the combination of taking proper means while trusting the outcome to Allah alone.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) tied his camel and then relied on Allah. This balance of effort and trust is the Sunnah.
Trust and contentment
True tawakkul brings peace regardless of outcomes. The one who relies on Allah is content with His decree, knowing that what reaches them was never going to miss them.
This trust is built through knowledge of Allah's names and attributes, reflection on His past mercies, and consistent supplication.
